5th Grade – LIFE SCIENCE: Cycling of Matter and Flow of Energy

This science kit enables students to improve their communication skills while examining the Earth and its resources. As students work through the modules, they will record their knowledge of the planet and its environmental resources in their electronic learning journals, which utilize text, images, and voice to convey understanding. In addition to journaling, this unit provides hands-on opportunities for students to use the engineering design process, which shows students how scientists use critical thinking and analysis to solve problems. This unit blends videos, model building, and research skills to allow students to learn on a variety of levels.
