Caras Con Causa Receives a Woz ED Stealth Flying Drone

In the beginning of January, Woz ED sent out a DRL Science of Drone Racing Kit to 50 schools in the hope that students could learn how to execute drone flying techniques and explore the realm of unmanned vehicle systems. This kit includes: an EMAX EZ Pilot Pro, FPV goggles, and a custom DRL TinyTrainer Drone from GetFPV.

We asked these schools to send us pictures and videos of their student’s experiences with building, flying, and racing drones. The school with the best content would be sent a free Woz ED Stealth Flying Drone.

All schools that participated had huge success, and more importantly, loads of fun using the DRL Science of Drone Racing Kit. The winner of the Stealth Flying Drone is Caras Con Causa, a public alliance community school in Puerto Rico. Caras Con Causa is made up of about 350 K-12 aged students. Their mission is to create community resilience through preparing their students for successful futures as forces of social and economic growth.

I had the opportunity to speak with Jackelin Rosado about Caras Con Causa’s experience with the DRL Kit. She told me,

The favorite part of this project was seeing how, knowing nothing about drones, my students and I got excited every time we turned on the propellers or tried to lift the drone.”

She also commented on how working with the Drone Kit reminded her of the importance of determination and continuous learning. Jackelin understands the necessity to teach children how to use the technology of the future. What better way than with the Woz ED Stealth Flying Drone?
